加冷盆地游泳课程
We arrange private and small-group coaching here when a suitable coach, pool area and timeslot are available.
Kallang Basin Swimming Complex sits in the Geylang Bahru estate, a short trip from Kallang Bahru, Bendemeer, Whampoa and Boon Keng. Its central position makes it a practical pool for families who live in these estates and for working adults who want a lesson close to the city.

Is Kallang Basin the right pool for you?
Location matters more than most people expect. A lesson that involves a long journey each way is the first thing to be skipped when life gets busy, and missed lessons slow progress. Kallang Basin tends to suit:
- Families living in Geylang Bahru, Kallang Bahru, Bendemeer and Whampoa, for whom the pool is a walk or short bus ride away.
- Adults working in the city fringe who want to fit a 45-minute lesson in before or after work. Our 成人游泳课程 cover first-time swimmers as well as people who can swim a little but want to feel safe in deep water.
- Parents of school-age children who want structured progress on floating, breathing and strokes through 儿童游泳课程, or preparation for SwimSafer water-safety tests.
If your household lives further east or north, another pool may be easier. Tell us your area and we will say so.
What a first lesson here usually looks like
The first session is partly an assessment. The coach watches how the learner enters the water, whether they are comfortable putting their face in, how they breathe and whether they can float or glide unaided. From there the coach sets realistic targets for the four-lesson package rather than following a fixed script.
For nervous children and adults, the early focus is on calm breathing and standing up safely from a float. Confident swimmers move straight to stroke work, such as body position in freestyle or the timing of breaststroke kick.

Travel and arrival
The complex is in Geylang Bahru. Geylang Bahru station on the Downtown Line is the closest MRT for most visitors; check the walking route on a journey planner before your first visit. If you drive, confirm current parking arrangements in advance rather than relying on finding a space nearby.
On the day
- Arrive about ten minutes early so there is time to pay admission and change.
- Bring swimwear, goggles, a towel and a padlock if you want to use a locker.
- For an outdoor pool, sunscreen and drinking water are worth packing.
- Eat lightly beforehand; a full meal right before swimming is uncomfortable.
Opening hours, maintenance days and closures change from time to time. Check the official ActiveSG facility information before travelling. Lessons may also be paused for lightning alerts, unsafe weather or lifeguard instructions.
Choosing a format
一对一 lessons give the learner the coach’s full attention and are the most flexible to schedule. Pairs work well for two siblings, colleagues or friends of similar ability. Small groups cost less per person but each swimmer gets less individual time. Current four-lesson package prices for every programme are on our fees and rates page, and our 私人游泳课程 page explains when one-to-one coaching is worth it.
Questions about Kallang Basin lessons
I work near the city. Can I book an early-morning or evening slot?
Ask us with your preferred times. Availability depends on coach schedules and the facility’s operating hours.
My child has never had a lesson. Should we start with private or group?
For a first-timer who is unsure about the water, one-to-one or a pair with a sibling usually builds confidence faster. Once the child is comfortable, a small group can work well.
Is pool admission included in the package?
Do not assume it is. Confirm admission and any facility charges for your booking before paying.
Can a learner with additional needs have lessons here?
Possibly. Tell us about the learner first so we can discuss whether the venue and a suitable coach fit. See special-needs swimming lessons.
What happens if a lesson is cancelled for weather?
Cancellation and make-up terms are agreed before payment, so ask about them when you book.
A coach-led lesson does not replace a parent’s supervision outside the class.
