Swimming Lessons in Ang Mo Kio

Coached lessons for learners living in Ang Mo Kio, Yio Chu Kang, Teck Ghee, Cheng San and Mayflower, at a public pool or permitted private pool that suits your journey and timetable.

Ang Mo Kio is a large town, and the most convenient pool for one household can be a long trip for another. Rather than send everyone to the same place, we start with where you live and when you are free, then confirm a specific venue, coach and slot before you book.

How we choose a pool for Ang Mo Kio learners

Ang Mo Kio stretches from the Bishan border in the south to Yio Chu Kang in the north, and is served by Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang stations on the North-South Line and Mayflower on the Thomson-East Coast Line. A family near Mayflower and a family near Yio Chu Kang may be better served by different pools. When you enquire, we look at three things:

  1. Travel time. Weekly lessons only work if getting there is easy. We aim for a short walk, bus ride or drive.
  2. Timeslot. After-school and weekend-morning slots are the most requested. If you can be flexible, more options open up.
  3. Venue rules. Public pools have their own admission, opening hours and maintenance days. Private pools need the management’s permission for an external coach.

We will name the proposed venue before you pay. Listing Ang Mo Kio on this page does not mean we operate at every pool in the area.

Lessons on offer

  • Toddler lessons for ages 2–4, 30 minutes each, focused on water confidence.
  • Kids lessons for ages 5–11, 45 minutes each, building floating, breathing and strokes, with the water-safety skills used in SwimSafer.
  • Adult lessons for ages 12 and above, 45 minutes each, whether you are starting from zero or refining technique.
  • Ladies lessons for women who prefer a female coach, subject to availability.

Living in a condominium?

A number of private developments in and around Ang Mo Kio have their own pools. If yours allows external coaches, lessons at home can save travel entirely, which is especially helpful for toddlers. See condo swimming lessons and check your management’s rules before booking.

Before your first lesson

  • For a public pool, check current hours, maintenance closures and rules on the official ActiveSG facility directory. Official information takes precedence over this page.
  • Confirm whether admission or guest fees apply; they are separate from coaching fees unless we confirm otherwise.
  • Pack swimwear, goggles, towel, sunscreen, water and a swim nappy for toddlers.
  • Arrive ten minutes early and tell the coach about any medical, sensory or support needs.

Swimming lessons do not make a learner drown-proof. Venue rules and safety instructions, including lightning warnings, take priority, and children must be supervised by an adult outside the lesson.

Ang Mo Kio FAQs

Which pool will my lessons be at?

That depends on your location, preferred slot and coach availability. We confirm the exact venue before you pay.

How much does a package cost?

All packages are four lessons. Kids packages are $280 for 1-to-1, $190 per person for two and $140 per person for three or more. Other programmes are listed on our fees and rates page.

We live near the Bishan side. Should we still enquire here?

Yes. Tell us your nearest MRT station and we will suggest the most practical pool.

Is one-to-one better than a group?

For anxious beginners and specific goals, usually yes. Confident children of similar ability often enjoy small groups. See private swimming lessons.

Can a learner with additional needs join?

Please talk to us first. See special-needs swimming lessons.
