Swimming Lessons at Jurong Lake Gardens

Tell us the learner’s age, ability and goals, and when you would like to swim.

Jurong Lake Gardens is the national garden around Jurong Lake, between Lakeside, Chinese Garden and the Taman Jurong estates. Its pool makes swimming lessons easy to combine with a family morning in the park.

Why Families Choose This Venue

Lessons at the Jurong Lake Gardens pool suit families who live in Lakeside, Taman Jurong, Yuan Ching Road and the Jurong East side of the lake. Lakeside and Chinese Garden MRT stations on the East-West Line are both close to the gardens, so it is reachable without a car.

The real advantage is the setting. A 30-minute toddler lesson or a 45-minute kids lesson can sit inside a longer outing: a walk round the lake, a stop at the playgrounds, then the pool. For young children, ending a fun morning with a lesson, rather than squeezing one in after school, often makes the session calmer.

Lessons We Arrange Here

Learner Programme Lesson length
Ages 2 to 4 Toddler lessons 30 minutes
Ages 5 to 11 Kids lessons 45 minutes
Ages 12 and above Adult lessons 45 minutes
Women preferring this format Ladies’ lessons 45 minutes
Learners needing extra support Special-needs lessons 30 minutes

Every package is four lessons, offered one-to-one, one-to-two or in small groups. Prices are on the fees page. Children working towards a SwimSafer award can tell the coach which stage they are on; read more on our SwimSafer page.

Not sure whether to share a coach? Shared lessons suit siblings or friends of similar ability. If the learner is anxious, or you want the coach to focus on one specific skill, choose private swimming lessons.

Planning Your Visit

Getting there: take the East-West Line to Lakeside or Chinese Garden and walk into the gardens, or check parking at the gardens if you are driving. Allow extra time on weekends, when the park is busy.

Before you leave home: check the official ActiveSG facility information for the pool’s current hours, closures and rules.

What to bring: swimsuit, goggles, swim cap if required, towel, water, sunscreen and a hat for the walk. A dry change of clothes is essential if you plan to stay in the park afterwards.

Weather, safety and supervision

The gardens are open and exposed, so outdoor swimming stops quickly when lightning is detected. Ask us about make-up arrangements before you pay. A coach-led lesson does not replace parent or guardian supervision before and after class, and around the lake.

Jurong Lake Gardens FAQs

Is the pool inside the gardens?

The pool is part of the Jurong Lake Gardens area. Check the official ActiveSG page above for its exact location and access before your first visit.

Can we combine a lesson with a day out in the park?

Yes, and many children enjoy it. Plan the lesson for when your child is fresh, not at the end of a long, hot walk.

Is pool admission included in the lesson fee?

Usually not. Admission is normally paid to the facility; we will confirm this for your booking.

Can two families share a coach?

If the children are similar in age and ability, yes. Shared lessons lower the cost per person.

What happens if it rains?

Facility safety instructions apply. Confirm the cancellation and make-up arrangements before payment.
